Confucius faced the human despair in his time when he started his new idea of humanity and ethics: warfare and strife, disharmony in families and communities, religious and moral decline, the manipulation of religious beliefs and values for political gain, a fracturing of the world, etc.
There is a famous Asian proverb; “A hero will be born in a turbulent age.”
What do you think? If Confucius time was peaceful, could he have become a sage? Is predicament a necessary evil? Do you have any example?
