This essay is going to be a research and argumentative essay on Russian Nihilism and how it came to be. Nihilism is also mentioned in Fathers and Sons by Ivan Turgenev, mainly on one of the main characters named Bazarov who considers himself to be nihilist; my prompt of this essay is how being a nihilist has affected Bazarov and the people around him like his friend, Arkady and Pavel (Arkady’s uncle) and what they think of his belief on nihilism. My arugment is on how Bazarov ended up failing to be the “perfect” nihilist and contradicted himself by falling in love with a woman and being aware of his emotions. Here is the link to the novel, I will inform you that Chapters 5, 6, 10, and 11 are good chapters for a little more background of Bazarov being a nihilist.
