This final essay that my professor assigned to us was completely up to us; meaning that we could write about whatever we wanted for this essay and I chose teaching spirituality in schools (mainly through grades K-12). This is a short summary I wrote on how my essay is going to be. -> “My central claim is on how spirituality (*in a higher self/awareness and emotional sense) should be taught through K-12 because students should be aware of who they are as an individual. My central claim is on how spirituality should be taught through K-12 because this can help students be in-tune with their emotions and have a greater sense of compassion and gratitude towards self and other beings. My central claim is on how spirituality should be taught through K-12 because it can show students their divine potential; finding their passion(s). This leads to my warrants being on how spirituality should be taught in (K-12) schools for students becoming aware of who they are as a person, spirituality can teach students to be in touch with their emotions and be compassionate and grateful for themselves and others, and lastly, spirituality can teach students to reveal their talent(s) and find their passions. The way I am going to address my argument is through a website (venue), that is Spirituality and Health (https://www.spiritualityhealth.com). Where their values, characteristics, and attitude towards Spirituality are all about being optimistic, open-minded, and resourceful.” <- The type of spirituality I am going to be talking about has nothing to do with religion but of one becoming aware of who they are as a person, and in this case, it’s with students. The reason why I repeated “my central claim” was because my professor wanted us to repeated it through email that was meant for him and along with it being a little summary to ourselves. We can only use two outside resources that can help support our argument. In the file below is an image of the grading rubric and what “warrants” mean is the evidence that we have to support our reasons 1, 2, 3, etc. Basically like extra evidence to our reasons. I know at the end of my summary I mentioned how I would “publish” my essay on a website and I realized that it is not mentioned on the grading rubric but in person, he told us to mention it anyway in our essay. So, I would greatly appreciate it if you could expand on why addressing my essay on the website is important to teaching spirituality in (K-12) schools and why I believe the website would be in support of my essay.
