Tillett Wright’s talk came before the Supreme Court ruling in favor of same-sex marriage. Examine and list a few of the challenges that she narrates, and then discuss whether her talk was compelling or not. Her photographic portraits were her attempt to help those who couldn’t see past the gender identity to better see the individual, and to expose the viewer to his or her fear (as she puts it). Please explain whether you think the video “Self Evident Truths” succeeds in the goal of bringing out “the humanity that exists in everyone one of us through the simplicity of a face.”
